Leopoldina – the  German National Academy of Sciences

“The Leopoldina originated in 1652 as a classical scholarly society and now has 1,600 members from almost all branches of science. In 2008, the Leopoldina was appointed as the German National Academy of Sciences”.

Klaus F. Zimmermann has been elected Member of Leopoldina in 2001.

He has been elected Senator of Leopoldina and Chair (“Obmann”) of its Section 25 “Economics and Empirical Social Sciences” starting on December 13, 2023 for a period of 4 years.
